Dr Hekang Zhu obtained his Ph.D. from the City University of Hong Kong in 2021. His research focuses on the relationship among synthesis parameters, structure and electrochemical performance of Ni-rich cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. He worked as an ITF postdoc fellow at the City University of Hong Hong and an engineer at Tinci Company after graduation, where he continued to study Ni-rich materials and expanded his research to the high voltage Li-ion batteries system, eg. spinel high voltage LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode materials and high voltage electrolytes for dual-ion batteries. He joined Dr Xiao Hua’s group as a Senior Research Associate at Lancaster University in Nov. 2023, to work on the Faraday Institution’s FutureCat project, where he will carry out in-situ PDF/XRD experiments on the high-Ni cathode materials.
